NewFASANT - Monurbs Module

MONURBS (Moment Method Code for Radar Cross Section Computation) is an extremely efficient computer tool for the analysis of Radar Cross Section (RCS) of complex targets.

The targets can be formed by Perfect Electric Conductors (PEC), dielectric or magnetic materials or PEC covered by Radar Absorbing Materials (RAM).

The targets are geometrically represented by a collection of flat facets or NURBS (Non-Uniform Rational B-Spline Surfaces). The geometry can be generated by the most used Computer Aided Geometrical Design (CAGD) tools such as Autocad, Rhino, etc

MONURBS works in any computer system or PC with Windows or LINUX. Highly parallelized versions for multiprocessor computers or clusters are available.

MONURBS is very flexible and can be adapted to the needs of each user. Partial or total services assistance under client demand is also available.

The graphical interface of MONURBS is user-friendly and allows to visualize and build geometries easily, set options, show results and other options.

The electromagnetic kernel of the code is based on the Moment Method extended with Multilevel Fast Multipole Method. The user can choose between the Electric Field Integral Equation, the Magnetic Field Integral Equation and the Combined Field Integral Equation. It also incorporates the Characteristic Basis Functions (CBFs) and Domain Decomposition Method (DDM). The code has implemented a Parallelized Multilevel Fast Multipole Method using MPI.

Limitations:

  • When the targets are electrically very large the use of large computer resources (memory and CPU-time) can be required.
  • VALIDATION / STATUS

MONURBS has been successfully validated comparing predictions and measurements of canical geometries, cavities and several aircrafts. MONURBS is operative and commercially available. The actual version of MONURBS is an evolution of a previous code with the same name.
