Automotive Applications
newFASANT, the first electromagnetic software tool that simulates in an efficient and accurate manner collision avoidance (as well as pedestrian protection) radar systems in real environments. It allows the modelization of the behavior of antennas located on different parts of the car as well as the propagation or scattering in complex urban scenarios considering all the elements contained in the geometry (buildings, pedestrian, vehicles, etc.), dynamic simulations of realistic scenes involving multiple vehicles with changing speed and location, and complete simulations considering full periods of the FM-CW radar sequence.

Analysis of scattering from rough surfaces in traffic scenarios applying GTD&PO
newFASANT is very useful to analyze false alarms by irregular ground. The user can plot the simulated beat signal, time and frequency domain received by a FMCW radar in the car and the scatter level of the cars and the ground

Analysis of scattering from rough surfaces in traffic scenarios, and Simulation of scattering from clutter and targets applying GTD&PO
newFASANT is very useful to simulate traffic scenarios, in order to analyze the clutter and targets levels.

Simulation of a FMCW radar in an urban scenario
A real scenario has been analyzed with GTD-PO module. It is composed by a street crossing in a realistic scenario composed by houses, pedestrians and urban elements. Three cars are involved. The blue one is moving with a speed of 20 m/s, the yellow one with a speed of 10 m/s. The car behind the house (gold color) is stopped. The gold colored car is carrying a FMCW radar located just on its front, indicated by an inverted red cone. This radar has a frequency sweeping of 200 MHz, with a period saw shape of period 0.01 seconds. The carry frequency is 79 GHz.
